What is NJIRA?
NJIRA connects men directly with sexual health strategies to close the prevention gap in healthcare.
Run by the HIV Prevention Trials Network (HPTN), NJIRA (also known as HPTN 112) is investigating the advantages of providing direct and personalized support to men in Malawi for the prevention of HIV. NJIRA provides counseling, testing, and guidance to enhance pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) usage.
As progress towards ending the global HIV epidemic has stalled and a vaccine remains unavailable, evidence-based prevention strategies are crucial for men who are high-risk for HIV. Confidential data gathered from NJIRA participants will inform future research and strategies aimed at the reduction of HIV.
